Christmas Day was celebrated at my cousin's house, where a bunch of relatives and family friends gathered for a great feast with lots of food, laughter and presents! Each family was to bring a dish or two to share, and this year, mum and I made two large platefuls of smoked salmon h'orderves. Not only do they look impressive, but these mini party pleasers are extremely easy to make and are great for preparing ahead of time and storing in the fridge until serving.
All that is required is to slice Lebanese cucumbers into rounds, top with a small piece of smoked salmon, squeeze over a drop of Kewpie Mayonnaise (It's the one used in sushi. Can be found at Asian groceries or in the Japanese section in supermarkets) and garnish with salted capers, fresh dill sprigs and cracked black pepper.
I find that Kewpie Mayonnaise is more aromatic, subtle and refined than regular Mayonnaise
