This year's Taste of Melbourne Festival was held between the 26th and 29th of August. It is an extraordinary annual event, showcasing a smorgasbord of delicious food and drink from premium restaurants in Melbourne, as well as being a destination for a market where food producers have the opportunity to flourish their specialty goods - we can browse through, sample and purchase their products.
Unfortunately, I did not attend the festival this year, as it is a hectic time for me with studies and work, but I was lucky enough to experience the buzz and excitement of all things food at last year's event on 30th August 2009. I loved Maha's Turkish Delight Filled Doughnuts with Pinenut Sugar and Rosewater Honey, and Fifteen's Slow Roasted ‘Berkshire’ Pork Belly with Lentil Du Puy and Salsa Verde.

Sampling Jacques Reymond's Tempura of Quail Breast with Tajine Flavours and Whipped Persian Fetta
Watching a cooking demonstration by Chef Tim Saffery (from The Court House), where we got to taste his creation of Mauritian Tamarind Cured Kingfish and Scallops with Green Chilli, Curry Leaf and Ocean Trout Pearls afterwards :-)
